Lap 1: started very easily, so easily 1 rider went up the road.
Lap 2: The big selection. The ride out of Audlem and the pace crept up as the road crept upwards. I managed to hold onto the wheel of a strong Cat C and held on
Lap 3: The critical selection. The sharp little climb through DogKennel Wood found me in the wrong gear and as the bunch accelerated the splits began to appear. I lost touch out of Adderley and just kept going at a good race tempo but settle the heart rate down.
As I neared Audlem, I was trying to link up with another rider in front but it took to the finish line to hook up.
Lap 4: Settle into through and off and in the course of this lap picked up 2 other refugees.
Lap 5: More through and off - let's finish this.
Lap 6: Oops... getting a bit fatigued... and ended up in a hedge!. All good it was just a case of going a bit wide around a sharp left hander, car approaching and decision made - hedges are softer!

The finish line was none too soon.. and no I cannot sprint after 60 miles especially when it is uphill!
