The focus is on Level 4 and Level 5 work. That is a few % points at threshold and then up to 120% over threshold.
After a warmup to increase HR the first interval when we drill into it shows the following:
My heart rate is relatively stable at the different demands but requires a certain amount of time to be stable.
If power was not used for intervals then there would be a probable outcome of revving too hard too soon.
Compare with the final interval
Heart rate has increased and no discernible difference between intensities, although with power you can most certainly feel the difference between producing 275 and 325 watts.
