As a season progresses the amount of accumulated fatigue inevitably increases. The time to recover enough to train defectively again therefore can also increase.
My race on Sunday had a training stress score of over 200. The race was long and hard and depleted my body's reources.
The top line in purple shows a peak then a decrease. This was the race effort followed by small amounts of training as determined by the amount of effort required to recover from. Each dot is a day. Therefore, full race recovery is already taking 4 days. However, you can see that the red dots have an upward trend, meaning that recovery is in progress.
