Sundorne Circuit LVRC Race - 21st July

A thorough warm up from Crewe to Shrewsbury (possibly too thorough as it might have transpired) before a 60 minute Crit race held at Sundorne Sports Village.

The race pace from the off was high enough to start to shell riders very quickly.
That 35 mile ride in suddenly had consequences as I did not feel the legs had the zip to take a bit of a leading role and ping of the front.
After 30 minutes or so, I rolled up to the front and took the sharp hairpin in front. I tried to create more of a gap but the small bunch hung on behind me. It was time to sit in and hope for a good finish.
This tactic backfired as there was a faller at the last hairpin when his pedal dug in, He went down, he yelped in pain, I lost momentum and game over to the line, coming over in 9th.
